Abstract:

Supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory on the four dimensional sphere

of radius R exhibits phase transitions at finite value of the coupling constant once the limit

of infinite R is considered. Deforming the sphere to an ellipsoid still allows to preserve N=2 supersymmetry.

We analyze how the deformation of the sphere affects these phase transitions and which consequences it

implies on the structure of a hypothetical gravitational dual. In some suitable limit we make contact with

the two-dimensional theory and discus implications regarding phase transitions for massive

theories.
