The Welcome Day, the introductory ‘lesson zero’ for new students, takes place alongside the start of the academic year Welcome Day 2026.

During the introductory session, new first-year students will have the opportunity to find out how the first-cycle and second-cycle degree courses in the Department of Mathematical, Physical and Computer Sciences are organised; they will be shown how to deal with academic, organisational and logistical issues, and will be given useful advice and tips on how best to plan and manage their studies.
