The interactions between membranes and membrane proteins with chemicals are crucial processes for all forms of life. We are using a variety of computational approaches, from quantum to coarse grain, to gain insights on ion transport and ligand binding to some of these systems. Some of the results may be integrated in systems biology-based modeling in order to investigate signaling cascades.
