Abstract

Nowadays industrial competitiveness is played on the ground of efficiency and interconnection among processes. Standard automation is not enough to compete in challenging scenarios: the pushing of performance to the limits requires pervasive intelligence all over the technologies used to integrate every process and phase. During the talk, an excursus on the main technologies beneath smart factories will be presented based on the experience of Elettric80 S.p.A., ranging from localization, navigation, and coordination of automated vehicles, passing through simulation and 3D supports to design, up to continuous monitoring and predictive maintenance.
